Mumbai: Actress Rhea Chakraborty, arrested for drug use allegations in Sushant Singh rajput case, has not been granted bail. At the moment, they have to stay in jail. In this case, Rhea was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday for allegedly buying drugs. The Mumbai court also rejected the bail plea of Rhea’s brother Shouvik Chakraborty, who was arrested in the case.

Rhea Chakraborty was produced before the Magistrates Court after she was arrested on Tuesday, where her first bail plea was also dismissed and sent to jail till September 22. Since then, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Manshinde had filed his bail plea in a Mumbai court, which has been dismissed by the court.

In the absence of bail, Rhea’s lawyer said, “We are awaiting a copy of the NDPS Special Court order, after getting it, a decision will be taken to go to the High Court in the matter by next week.”

Rhea, in her statement on Thursday, alleged that she was forced to make a “confession statement” during the NCB’s interrogation. In her plea, Rhea has also claimed that she has not committed any crime and is being implicated in the case.

However, the NCB strongly opposed the bail plea, saying that even though the quantity of banned drugs seized in the case was low, it was worth Rs 1,85,200. In an affidavit filed in his reply on the bail petitions, the NCB said that Rhea Chakraborty and Shouvik Chakraborty used to arrange drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput and pay his money. The NCB said if the accused are released on bail, they can tamper with the evidence and try to influence the key witnesses of the case.
