The result was Bayern’s biggest win since a 16–1 victory over DJK Waldberg at the same stage of the competition in August 1997. This is the fifth time the Bavarians have won a competitive match by 10+ goals.

Erik Maxim Chopo-Motting  scored four goals and three assists to lead Bayern into an emphatic victory, including three before half-time at Westerstadion . Chaupo-Motting last scored a hat-trick as a member of Schalke against Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on 6 December 2014.

Jamal Musiala  contributed twice while  Malik Tillman Leroy Sane Michael Cuisens Dwarf Sarr and  Corentin Tolisso  contributed to Bayern’s tally on Wednesday.

The only player to find the net for Bremer was Jan-Luc Worm, who had his own goal in the first half.

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann dropped Robert Lewandowski Leon Goretzka  and  Manuel Neuer   in Munich , while  Dayot Upamecano Alfonso Davies  and  Serge Gnabry  were all on the bench. Kingsley Coman  and Lucas Hernandez had not recovered from their injuries, so  Omar Richards  made his debut at Bayern at Bayern back.

Tillman and American youngster Taylor Booth made his senior team debuts for Bayern, while fellow American Chris Richards made a cameo as a second-half substitute.

The match was scheduled to be played on 6 August but was postponed due to multiple coronavirus infections among players of the Bremen-based team.
