WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp features, has given information about these new features. A screenshot of the cashback feature in the report shows that WhatsApp will inform users about the opportunity to earn cashback. The report says that the cashback earned will be transferred to the user’s account within 48 hours. It has also been claimed that the cashback is currently limited to Rs 10, but this amount may change before the official release.
According to the report, the cashback will be available only on UPI payments in India. It is not clear which users will get this cashback, or what other conditions will apply. This feature has been seen in WhatsApp Beta 126.96.36.199 for Android.
Earlier it was seen in WhatsApp Beta 188.8.131.52 for Android that the company is developing a new group icon editor feature. This will give users the option to create an icon for the group. Users will also be able to choose the background color of the icons. Since this feature is currently being developed, features such as applying emoji and stickers have not been seen yet, but they are likely to be included in the editing options in the future.
WhatsApp is also working on redesigning the group info page, putting the chat and call buttons front and center. This new design was seen in WhatsApp Beta 184.108.40.206 for iOS. The new design will bring bigger buttons for chat, audio and video calls. Even the share button will be placed at the front for easy sharing of the invite link for all the admins of the group.
