Chinese telecom companies working with Pakistan in PoK thus become a threat to India
Many Chinese companies, including Huawei. They are associated with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
On the one hand, Huawei, a Chinese company known as the global leader, is gearing up to land in the Indian market over 5G mobile technology equipment. On the other hand, there has been a growing demand in the country to ban Chinese firms like Huawei and ZTE.
India has banned 59 Chinese mobile apps after tensions between India and China escalated recently along the border. These include top social media platforms, Tick Talk and V Chat.
The Indian government rightly pointed out the ban and said these applications were a threat to the sovereignty, security and integrity of the country.
Many Chinese companies, including Huawei. They are associated with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). These corridors are in Pok and Gilgit-Baltistan.
There is a demand in India that Chinese companies that are working with Pakistan in Pok. They are not allowed to work in India.
Since there has been a clash between Chinese and Indian troops in Galwan in Ladakh, there has been a growing demand to ban Chinese goods in India.
India now plans to ban Chinese telecommunication companies linked to 4G networks. Chinese companies will not be allowed for 5G networks as well.
Gautam Chikramne, vice president of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), said in his research paper on 5G infrastructure that china’s interference in corporate operations has increased in view of this trend. And the kind of critical infrastructure that Huawei deals with, the company can create a security threat for a country with its presence. This kind of threat to India is further increased.
Security agencies have also expressed concern over the presence of Chinese companies in Pok. And it is described as a threat to the national interest.
According to Indian security agencies, Chinese telecom companies like Huawei are also laying secure cable lines at the naval base in Karachi and Gwadar, Pakistan. And, at the same time, the defence forces are also providing high tech technology.
