Cricket Australia issues Advertisement terms with players placed before BCCI ahead of IPL

Fans are eagerly  waiting for The 14th season of IPL . The mini auction has also been over recently and the teams have started their preparations.

This year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin in the 2nd week of April, with a number of Australian cricketers including Maxwell (Glenn Maxwell), Richardson (Jhye Richardson).

Australia‘s 19 cricketers will play Indian Premier League 2021 (IPL 2021) including Steve Smith, Maxwell, Nathan Coulter Nile, Richardson, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh.

Cricket Australia issues decree

There have been reports that Cricket Australia does not want its players to advertise for the promotion of gambling, fast food, alcohol and tobacco brands during the next season of the Indian Premier League.

In a recent consultation to IPL teams, BCCI quoted Cricket Australia as saying, “The entire team’s photos can be used by the sponsors of the respective IPL team to publicize in print media in India.

No such photograph will be used for alcohol, fast food, fast food restaurants, tobacco or any betting company’.

In addition, CA said that more than a player from the Big Bash League team or a state team cannot be taken into the ad campaign.

Cricket Australia bans

” The Cricket Board of Australia has imposed these restrictions for the use of Their players in advertisements or promotional materials by franchisees,” the board’s email said.

“Not all franchisee can advertise more than 1 player with Australian Cricket Board‘s central contract,” the mail said.

More than 1 player from the same Australian state team will not be in advertising and similarly the same player from the Big Bash League will be in an advertisement’.
