Exclusive: NCB finds drug connection to Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Shovik, chats in probe
On September 1, the NCB arrested Zaid Vitra, a man from Mumbai. The interrogation revealed that he was in touch with Basit Avoidance and Suryadeep Malhotra. Both of them were in touch with Shovik Chakraborty.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which is separately investigating drugs allegations in the suspected death case of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput (Sushant Singh Rajput Death Probe), has received a drugs connection to the main accused in the case, Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Shouvik Chakraborty( Showik Chakraborty). On September 1, the NCB arrested Zaid Vitra from Mumbai. The interrogation revealed that he was in touch with Basit Avoidance and Suryadeep Malhotra. The two men were in touch with Shouvik Chakraborty. The bureau has received chats between the two, strengthening Shouvik’s interaction with the two.
In this case, the NCB has so far made a total of three arrests. The bureau has arrested Karan, Abbas and Zaid.
Basit Avoidance is under interrogation in custody and has not yet been arrested. Top bureau sources report that ncb may issue notices to Shouvik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda on Thursday.
Investigations and inquiries have revealed that Schovik was in touch with him for taking and using drugs. On March 17, 2020, Shouvik sent Zaid’s mobile number to Samuel Miranda and asked him to pay 10,000 rupees for 5 grams of drugs. Samuel Miranda then contacted Zaid for the first time. Samuel called Zaid 3 times by quoting Basit. Basit seems to have helped Samuel buy drugs.
Zaid told the enquirer that he took 10,000 rupees and handed over 5 grams of drugs to two people who had come to take drugs. When examined to substantiate this information, the mobile location revealed that Zaid and Samuel Miranda were at the same location on March 17, 2020.
The Enforcement Directorate, which is investigating the money laundering allegations in the case, had received some WhatsApp chats from Rhea Chakraborty, where there was a talk about buying drugs, after which ncb was also involved in the investigation. THE NCB is investigating against Rhea Chakraborty, Shovik Jaya Shah, Shruti Modi and pune-based and active man Gaurav Arya and other drug dealers in Goa. The NCB has registered a case against those whose names are in the FIR of ED. 20, 22, 27, 28, 29 the NDPS Act has registered a case. During the investigation, the bureau claimed that Rhea Chakraborty, who used drugs from the paddlers, used to ask for drugs from abroad through darknets.
