IPL Auction 2021: Australian all-rounder Maxwell (Glenn Maxwell), famous for his explosive batting in T20 cricket, is among the 292 players who have been included in the IPL auction.
Former India opening batsman Gautam Gambhir advised the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Team, captained by Virat Kohli, ahead of the IPL auction tomorrow i.e. Thursday, saying he should buy an explosive player like Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell.
Maxwell is better for RCB
Gautam Gambhir believes Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) should put a player like Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell in the team on Thursday’s auction to ease pressure on Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the batting.
Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, famous for his explosive batting in T20 cricket, is among the 292 players who have been included in the IPL auction.
Kohli should open the Innings
“RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore ) would like to have a player like Maxwell (Glenn Maxwell) who can bat and bowl as they have to keep less pressure on AB de Villiers and Kohli (Virat Kohli),” Gambhir (Gautam Gambhir) said.
Given the team combination, Kohli should open the Innings, though it depends on the team management and the captain.”
Maxwell ‘X Factor’ player
“Yes, it would be good for Kohli (Virat Kohli) to bat at the start,” Gambhir (Gautam Gambhir) said on the Star Sports show.
He will start the innings with Devdutt Paddikal and then he has De Villiers (AB De Villiers), you will like to have Maxwell as ‘X Factor’ and he can leave that impact on Chinnaswamy Stadium.”
Punjab need bowlers
Gambhir said Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings) could pick Umesh Yadav, Kyle Jamieson and Chris Morris.
Punjab will have to strengthen its Indian bowling department. “Punjab (Kings XI Punjab) can strengthen their Indian bowling department as they don’t have any other dependable bowlers except Shami (Mohammed Shami),” Gambhir (Gautam Gambhir) said.
“Umesh Yadav may be a good choice. Shami (Mohammed Shami) and Umesh Yadav will bowl with the new ball. This allows them to rotate their fast bowlers.
They should have bowlers like Chris Morris and Kyle Jamieson. So they can take both these players.
“Former Indian bowler Nehra (Ashish Nehra) believes Bangladesh all rounder Shakib (Shakib Al Hasan) could be the highest bid in the IPL auction 2021, while another former Indian Opening batsman Chopra (Aakash Chopra) thinks Maxwell (Glen Maxwell) will be sold at the highest rate.
