Google has removed the group video calling feature from multimedia messaging F Hangouts, giving a major setback to its users. You will no longer be able to make group video calling from Google Hangouts.
Google is re-directing its hangout users to its second video calling app Google Meet. Let’s say Google launched the cross-platform messaging app to Hangouts in the year 2013.
Google is now preparing to replace hangouts with Google meats and this new update is a part of that. Users will be able to open version 36.0.340725045 of the Google Hangout app as soon as they open “Video calls in Hangouts now use Google Meet. That gives you live captions, screen sharing, and more.”
With Google Meet video calls, only 10 people can currently make free calling, while 25 people can join video calling under paid service. Let’s say that Google’s rival Microsoft has recently given its teams users the facility of video calling throughout the day for free. Users of Microsoft Teams can now make video and audio calls for free throughout the day. Under the new feature, 300 users in Teams can meet 24 hours simultaneously.
