Gujarat Municipal Corporation Election Results 2021: Counting of votes for six Municipal Corporations of Gujarat is underway.
On Sunday, 575 municipal seats were polled. All these Municipal Corporations are now ruled by the BJP. The BJP is still leading in the initial trends.
BJP is 106, while Congress remains ahead in 26 seats. Elections were held on Sunday for Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar Municipal Corporations.
According to the State Election Commission, 46.1 per cent voters voted. According to the final data released by the Commission, Ahmedabad recorded the lowest turnout of 42.5 per cent and Jamnagar at 53.4 per cent.
In addition, 50.7 per cent polling was recorded in Rajkot, 49.5 per cent in Bhavnagar, 47.8 per cent in Vadodara and 47.1 per cent in Surat.
According to the release, out of a total of 1.14 crore registered voters in 6 cities, 52.83 lakh people voted on Sunday.
BJP ahead in Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and Rajkot
In Ahmedabad, BJP is ahead in 36 seats and Congress in six seats. In Bhavnagar, BJP is running ahead in 10 seats and Congress four seats.
In Jamnagar, BJP is ahead in 11 seats and Congress is ahead in four seats. Even in Rajkot, the BJP remains ahead with 15 seats.
BJP ahead in Surat-Vadodara
In Surat, BJP is ahead in 21 seats and Congress in 6 seats, while BJP in Vadodara is ahead in 3 seats on 13.
BJP ahead in early trends
The BJP has made a big lead in the initial trends. BJP is ahead in 106 seats and Congress 26.

In the initial trends, the BJP continues to be in Jamjodhpur, Thaltej, Vastapur, Asarwa, Saijpur, Nawa Vadaz and Navrangpura wards.
The Congress is ahead in Darapur and Chandkheda wards. While AIMIM is ahead in Behrampur. The BJP is ahead in 58 seats while the Congress remains ahead in 8 seats.

The main match in these elections is between the BJP and the main opposition Congress. The Bharti Janata Party (BJP) has ruled these 6 Municipal Corporations for the past several terms.
