IND vs ENG: Kevin Pietersen said there will be a lot of talk about Rahane and Kohli’s captaincy even during the upcoming India-England Test series. The former England captain said India were 100 per cent contenders to win the series.

Ajinkya Rahane‘s captaincy has been constantly being discussed after a brilliant Test series win on Australian soil as to who should be given the captaincy of the Test team out of Virat Kohli or Rahane.

Meanwhile, former England captain Kevin Pietersen has said that there will be a lot of debate about Rahane and Kohli’s captaincy during the upcoming India-England Test series.

Kohli-Rahane captaincy issue to be crucial

Virat Kohli  is now back once again after the team’s impressive performance in The Ajinkya Rahane captaincy in Australia, pietersen (Kevin Pietersen) said it is going to be a very interesting discussion and there will be a lot of things about it during this series.

“This Test series may have different possibilities, but I think there is going to be a very interesting anecdote during this series as to what kind of kohli will return to this role after Rahane’s brilliant captaincy in Australia,” Pietersen said in Star Sports’ Cricket Connected programme.

100 percent contenders to win India series

Pietersen said India is a 100 per cent contender to win the upcoming series. “There is no hesitation that India is 100 per cent contender to win the series,” Pietersen said. India will get the benefit of the domestic environment and Virat Kohli is also back. India is a strong contender to win.”

England have not taken their best team

Pietersen said it is very difficult for England to win this series as they have not taken their best team for the first two Tests. “England have not picked their best team for the first two Test matches.

According to me, Jonny Bairstow should have been in the team. India are 100 per cent contenders as England are not coming down with their best team in the first two Tests,” he said.
