Talking about Team India, it still has a chance to get back in the match. On the 4th day, if Team India‘s innings is reduced soon, the England Team will think that India will be given a follow-up.

England have a lead of 321 runs. England are yet to take the wickets of India‘s 4 Lower order batsmen.

India are facing a follow-on threat in the first Test match against England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

In reply to England‘s first innings of 578 runs, Team India have lost six wickets for 257 runs in their first innings so far.

India are still 321 runs behind England‘s score as compared to the first innings. India have so far lost the wickets of Rohit Sharma (6), Shubman Gill (29), Cheteshwar Pujara (73), skipper Virat Kohli (11), Ajinkya Rahane (1) and Pant (91) after England‘s first innings at 578 runs.

At one stage, India had lost 4 wickets for just 74 runs, but Pant and Pujara then tried  hard and made a partnership of 119 runs for 5thwickets.

Pujara‘s wicket fell to a total of 192. Pujara faced 143 balls and put up 11 fours. Pant‘s wicket fell to a total of 225. Pant hit nine fours and five sixes off 88 balls.

If England gets a lead of 250 to 270, it will be an exciting situation. Then England Team will again think that should they give India follow-on or not.

If the visiting team gives India a follow-on, India may give it a target of 100 to 150 runs in the 4th innings.

The England Team would like it not to be difficult to chase for them. This will be a very interesting situation. The Chennai pitch has shown many feats in the 4th innings.
