Only 292 players have been selected for the bid in the list released by the BCCI. S Sreesanth, who returned to cricket after a long gap of 7 years, has not been included in the auction.
S Sreesanth, who has been sentenced to seven in spot-fixing, recently returned to cricket through the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Sreesanth had registered for auction this year. But now Sreesanth‘s return in IPL hopes has been shattered.
Pujara gets a place
Team India star batsman Cheteshwar Pujara is expected to be a part of IPL once again. Cheteshwar Pujara‘s name is included in the list of 292 players.
Pujara has kept his base price at Rs 50 lakh. Pujara has previously played in IPL for KKR and RCB.
Labuschagne gets Listed
Australia‘s star batsman Marnus Labuschagne has registered himself for the IPL for the first time.
Labuschagne‘s base price is Rs 1.5 crore. Labuschagne expressed his desire to play in the IPL this year.
This year, 292 players include 164 Indian players while 125 are foreign players. The auction process will begin at 3 pm on February 18 to fill 61 slots in all 8 teams at 3 pm.
