ANI has Tweet It has been informed that from Monday, June 1, online delivery of liquor has started in Delhi. As per the Delhi Excise (Amendment) Rules 2021, L-13 license holders can deliver liquor to people’s homes in Delhi. However, there are some conditions in this, the first of which is that these license holders will only deliver orders received through government-made mobile apps or online web portals to their homes. Secondly, there will be no delivery of any kind at any hostel, office or institute.
Let us inform that in 2020, the Supreme Court had asked the states to consider home delivery of liquor, due to which the reason for getting rid of the crowd at liquor shops was told. In fact, liquor shops remained open during Corona in many states and many pictures of ignoring the rules also came to the fore. This was the reason that as soon as the second wave came, the Delhi government decided to close the liquor shops in the state and the shops have been closed for more than a month.
Certainly this decision is nothing less than good news for many people of Delhi. Let us tell you that a major part of Delhi’s revenue comes from alcohol. This decision will prove beneficial for the public as well as the government. Earlier, license holders were allowed to make home delivery only on receipt of e-mail or fax. However, now the new decision does not mean that all liquor shops will be allowed to do home delivery immediately.
