BTS may be able to assist Megan Thee Stallion in making Hot 100 history with her single “Butter.”
BTS released the latest version of their world-dominating single “Butter” earlier today (August 27), this time featuring Megan Thee Stallion as the featured vocalist.
Though it has only been available for a few hours, the single is already on its way to becoming a hit in South Korea…and the featured musician may be on her way to becoming a household history in the United States.
When Billboard updates its charts in a week or so, there is a fair probability that Megan Thee Stallion’s name will be added to “Butter,” even if the song is still in its early stages of popularity.
That update will take place if her version becomes the most popular, which appears highly likely given the fact that she is the reason the cut will gain in sales, streams, and possibly even radio play, all of which are metrics that factor into the most important of all the lists, the Billboard Hot 100.
No one can predict what will happen, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see “Butter” return to the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 after the Stallion remix has had a full seven-day tracking period, during which time it will almost certainly be purchased by tens of thousands of people (if not more than 100,000) and streamed by millions more people.
Once again, if the song reaches the top of the charts and stays there for a tenth time, Megan Thee Stallion will be crowned champion for the third time.
In just the past few years, there have been a number of instances of major stars in the music industry jumping on already successful tracks and earning another No. 1 on the Hot 100, if only for a week, as the vocals they add help a tune surge in consumption, perhaps even reaching the top spot for the very first time. When Stallion released her smash single “Savage,” it became her first chart-topper, but it only reached the top of the charts because Beyoncé lent her abilities and name to the track.
BTS earned their second ruler on the already popular “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat),” which ran the show for one frame after the South Korean band started part. They were joined by Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo on the track.

Kristen Stewart enters the Oscar race in the role of Princess Diana in “The King’s Man,” which receives a sixth (!) nomination. And, hopefully, the last trailer.
If “Butter” is able to return to No. 1 and Stallion is given credit, she will become the third woman to hold the top spot on the Hot 100 in a row. She will break free from a tie with Nicki Minaj for the second-highest number of chart-topping singles among female rappers as a result of this achievement.
The two are currently tied for second place with two wins apiece, trailing only Cardi B, who has five victories to her credit. With a third champion, Stallion will retain her position as the female rap artist with the second-highest number of rulers, while Minaj will be reduced to third place, at least for the foreseeable future.
Nothing is definite when it comes to the Billboard charts, but BTS is by far the biggest band to have charted songs at the moment, and their song “Butter” has already been at No. 1 for the longest period of time this year in the United States.
As of right now, the tune isn’t all that far away from claiming the throne, and all it may want is something to pique listeners’ interest once more, and Stallion’s lyrics have the potential to achieve exactly that.
