‘Government doctors make fake certificates’
In fact, Nitin Gadkari was speaking on traffic rules and road accidents during the inauguration of Road Safety Month.
In the meantime, he advised Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to check his driver’s eyes with a private doctor as government doctors issue wrong certificates.
Many drivers complain of cataract, but government drivers sometimes get fake certificates despite being less likely to save their jobs, he said. He also advised government officials to check their drivers’ eyes thoroughly.
After Nitin Gadkari, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the event and said that his colleague has said that the driver’s eyes have been checked well and he is absolutely correct.
In the meantime, Nitin Gadkari stressed on a strict policy to prevent road accidents. Millions of people could die by 2030 if strict rules are not framed at the earliest.
The Union minister said the government will spend Rs 14,000 crore to reduce these accidents.
