Otto Wichterle Google Doodle Today: Google is celebrating the birthday of Czech chemist Otto Vicharle through its doodle today. The great Chemist Vitterley invented soft contact lenses. Wichterle was born on this day in Prostazov, Czech republic (then Austria-Hungary) in 1913. Google is remembering him on his 108th birthday.

Wichterle, a lover of science since his youth, received a doctorate in biological chemistry from the Prague Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) in 1936. He developed an exploitative and transparent prison for eye transplants while teaching as a professor during the 1950s.

Wichterle is most famous as the inventor of contact lenses. His inventions laid the foundation for state-of-the-art medical techniques such as “smart” biomaterials, which are used to heal human compound tissues, and are used to produce bio-identifiable polymers.
