Poco is giving its customers an extended warranty of two months in India. For customers whose warranty was to expire in May and June, Poco is extending it for two months in India. The company has taken this step in view of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in India. The company also said that it will not launch any new devices in the country in the month of May and will keep informing its customers about upcoming new launches or developments from time to time.

Poco informed about this extended warranty on Twitter. This warranty is being given to only those customers whose warranty of the smartphone was about to expire in the months of May and June. Due to the second wave of Corona, lockdown has been imposed in many places in the country. In view of this, the company has taken this step.

In a press release, Poco said, “We reiterate that nothing is more important to us than the well being of our employees, consumers, members of the Poco family and all others who are connected with us.”

Regarding its upcoming launch events, Poco said, “After due deliberation, we have decided not to hold any launch in May 2021.” The company further said, “We are putting all new launches on hold until the situation gets better.”

This is not the first time that a company is offering increased warranty on its products due to COVID-19. Earlier in the year 2020, many other brands had given extended warranties of up to 75 days on their products. OnePlus is one such brand that not only extended the warranty but also extended the period of return and replacement of its devices from 15 to 30 days. Apart from this, the company also provided free two-way shipping for all returns, repairs and replacements. Brands that gave extended warranties in 2020 include Samsung, Nokia, Lenovo, and Motorola was also involved.
