Former Army Chief and Union Minister Vk Singh (VK Singh) has lashed out at the Maharashtra government and mumbai police over the arrest of Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami. He said that the way the Mumbai police is dealing with Arnab Goswami, I think this kind of behaviour would not have been done with Kasab either.
VK Singh compares emergency
Singh also targeted the Congress in an emergency comparing the present time and said, “As we saw in the emergency, where the Congress is in hand, there is something wrong. At that time, the Indian Express and Ram Nath Goenka had done a lot. Today, I see it against the Republic,” he said.
‘No one believes in Maharashtra police’
“The case was closed in 2018 in which Arnab Goswami has been arrested . If the case was closed in 2018, why are you raising it in a false manner today? No one believes in maharashtra police today. The police in Maharashtra do not police any civilised country in the way Arnab has behaved.”
Why police have arrested Arnab Goswami
Arnab Goswami was arrested by mumbai police on Wednesday in a two-year-old case of inciting interior designer Anyay Naik to commit suicide. Later in the evening, Arnab Goswami was produced before a court in Alibag in Raigad district, where the court remanded him to judicial custody of 14. However, Arnab’s lawyer has filed a bail plea. Arnab was arrested under sections 306 and 34, police said. Besides Urban Goswami, Feroz Mohammad Sheikh and Nitesh Sarda are also accused in the Suside case, which has been arrested by the police.
Charges of not paying 5.4 crore dues
As Arnab Goswami, Feroz Sheikh and Nitesh Sarda for allegedly not paying the dues, In the case of 53 old interior designer and his mother committing suicide, CID was ordered to rexamine the case. The suside note allegedly written by Anavay Naik said that the accused had not paid him Rs 5.40 crore, so he had to take suicidal steps. However, Republic TV had dismissed the allegations.
