Real Madrid beat Valencia late with goals from Vinicius and Benzema
Valencia vs Real Madrid: Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. and Karim Benzema scored three minutes into the second half to make it 2-1 at Valencia in La Liga on Sunday .
The hosts advanced in the 66th minute with a low strike from Hugo Turo, who spent last season for the Madrid loan .
Real equalized with Vinicius’ deflected strike in the 86th minute, then became the Brazilian presenter, beating Benzema in the 88th to go home.
Valencia would have been top if they had retained La Liga but instead Carlo Ancelotti’s Real team leads the table with 13 points from five games.
“It’s not easy for you to get here, especially when you agree on the first goal, but we never give up, we just keep working and keep going,” Vinicius said.
“With the hard work of the whole team we have got a great result here and now things are coming to us.”
The victory came in the wake of another Real Late show when Brazilian forward Rodrigo scored in the 89th minute to give his side a 1-0 victory in their first Champions League group stage international .
Valencia made a strong start to the season under new coach Jose Portalas, but suffered a setback in the build-up when captain Jose Gaya was said to be injured .
Midfielder Carlos Soler , who scored a hat-trick penalty last season against Real Madrid, was injured in the 15th minute, while Theory Korea soon finished 23rd.
But Portalos’ side were still able to beat their opponents in most of the games and took a deserved lead when keeper Thibaut Courtois spun the ball to send a bouncing ball beyond the boundary .
Valencia continued to cause real problems, but the final 10 minutes were relaxed and the spectators made the most of their deadly fireball, Vinicius scored his fifth goal of the season and Benzema scored his sixth after scoring a hat-trick against Zelda Vigo last week .
“We know how Real Madrid are and we know they can turn the game around at any level,” Duro said.
“We had a tough game, we had two early injuries, but were still able to progress, and then the win escaped our grip. They paid us in two isolated moves. At least we were very unfortunate not to get a draw today.”
Ancelotti added: “I have a team that is always fighting, always playing well or playing badly. It’s a team that believes in the end, and that’s the feeling I have today.
“We did well counterattack in the first half. But there was no aggression behind us. It could happen, you sit down and they hit. After that the reaction was good. Valencia worked hard in the first half, they ran a lot, I put some new players on the pitch and we won the game.
“The subs were good and they came with encouragement and enthusiasm, which changed the game.”
