Woman started the car before sitting death after being trapped between car, door and tree
It became costly for a woman to start a car without a seat at Sadashiv Nagar in Bengaluru. 48-year-old Nandini Rao died when trapped between the car door and a tree. According to information received from the police, passers-by saw the woman unconscious, and she took her to the Columbia Asia Hospital in Yeshwanthpur, but she was pronounced dead by doctors.
The incident on new Bel Road was captured in a nearby CCTV camera. Sadashiv Nagar traffic police said the Honda city car was parked at the time of the woman’s residence. The car may have been in reverse gear and the handbrake was not turned on. The woman opened the door and started the engine before sitting, causing the car to move backwards, while the driver’s side door was open.
According to police, the woman was drawn with her and the car collided with a nearby tree because the car door was open. The woman got stuck between the car door and the tree. A police official said, the case is under investigation. The official said, the post mortem of the woman’s body was conducted on Thursday and the body has been handed over to the family.
