This showed that in the June quarter also, Chinese brands dominated with India’s market share of 79 per cent. Of these, Xiaomi has been the leading brand in India with the highest market share. Redmi 9A, Redmi 9 Power, Redmi Note 10 and Redmi 9 are behind the company’s top spot in shipments, of which the top three models have sold more than one million units.

In terms of shipments, 28.4 percent of the market has been captured by Xiaomi. However, this part also includes shipments of smartphones from the company’s sub-brand POCO. Redmi 9A, Redmi 9 Power, Redmi Note 10 And Redmi 9 Have been in the list of best selling smartphones. Redmi 9A was the best selling smartphone in the last three quarters. The company has performed well in the premium segment as well. Mi 11 Ultra With its launch, the company has captured 7% market share in the premium segment this quarter. Not only this, POCO saw a year-on-year growth of 480% in this quarter, which is commendable.

Samsung has been the second largest smartphone company in India after Xiaomi with 17.7 per cent, registering a growth of 25% annually. The company has also performed well in online channels during the quarter. The online focused M-series and F-series contributed 66% of the brand’s total shipments in Q2.

Vivo ranked third in the second quarter with a year-on-year increase of 61%. The brand’s share increased to 12% in the premium segment priced above Rs 30,000 and the company was seen to lead the market in the Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 segment. At the same time, Realme saw a growth of 140% year on year and secured the fourth position. The company has dominated the 5G smartphone market and leads the segment with 22% share.

Oppo grew 103% year-on-year and had a 10% market share in the second quarter of 2021. Oppo F19 Pro+ The top 5G smartphone model was in the Rs 20,000 to 30,000 price bracket. Apple has maintained its top position in the ultra premium segment above Rs 45,000 with 49% market share. At the same time, OnePlus has grabbed 34% of the premium market.
